Five years ago, KCC began developing in-house expertise in sustainable design initiatives, putting us ahead of the curve in meeting the growing demand for environmentally responsible design and construction. We have actively embraced the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDŽ) program, the "nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings"
Today, our Sustainable Design Group includes LEED Accredited Professionals who have helped our clients achieve the US Green Building Council's coveted LEED Certification on two buildings to date, with a third underway. By the end of 2008, the majority of our operations and estimating staff will have completed the stringent LEED Accreditation process, further deepening our capabilities and commitment in this critical discipline.
